Sarah Pollack Boyd is the founder
and 'dot connector' at Simply Stylist. A Fashion Merchandising graduate from
Philadelphia University, Sarah fell in love with the world of fashion at an
early age and pursued her interest throughout college and beyond. Soon after
she completed her degree, Sarah discovered a need unmet by other publicists and
professionals in the area; the need to connect stylists dressing their
celebrity clients with desirable brands, all the while giving them the press
and recognition they deserve.
Following this discovery and her passion
for fashion, PR, and events, Sarah launched Simply Inc. in 2009 as an agency
specializing in Public Relations, Events and Brand Collaborations. Shortly
after, Sarah came up with the idea for Simply Stylist: a company that would not
only focus on connecting stylists with top brands, but one that would aid in
growth and development of these individuals. Sarah has singlehandedly grown the
company from an idea, to a full service PR and Management company with a wide
variety of talented clients on board.
Credited for her work in the
world of PR by the likes of Marie Claire, HauteLook, and Forbes, Sarah is no
stranger to the world of entertainment and possesses strong celebrity
relationships with those in the industry. In addition to her expertise in
publicity, Sarah has helped designers get their clothing onto A-list
celebrities and has been featured as an expert by media outlets like Fox, E!,
KTLA, and Entrepreneur Magazine, to name a few. After the success of her
bi-coastal fashion panel with Simply Stylist, Sarah has expanded her brand to
two new markets, Dallas and Chicago, for the coming year to continue inspiring
and educating those interested in joining the industry.

Over the last couple of months, Sarah has been working away, decorating her new house. Between planning and traveling for conferences and managing the Simply Digital Network roster, it’s been no easy task. Sarah’s goal has not only been to make her house feel warm for her growing family, but also to maintain her chic aesthetic in this new space. Take a look below for a tour of Sarah’s new home and get some styling inspo for a space of your own!
Hey guys! Welcome to my NEW HOME! Within the time span of a few short months, we sold our previous home, bought our new house, found out we were expecting a little girl and have of course been busy with Simply Stylist, Simply Digital Network and International Style Institute. Go big or go home, right?
I’m so excited to show you around. Since I had a tight deadline of two months before my husband’s big 40th birthday bash, I knew I needed some help with the design. I hired Jennifer Wallenstein of HomePolish. By far they were the best decision I’ve made in a long time. Jennifer came to my (then) empty home, did some measurements and got a feel for our aesthetic and vibe we were going for. Within a few days, she had a CAD drawing along with her design inspiration – which she nailed! We loved everything she chose and started the ordering process. The best part of working with HomePolish is benefiting from their industry discounts with almost every home vendor such as Crate & Barrel, West Elm, Wayfair and more. Jennifer would give us 2-3 options for each item, and we’d decide our favorite. This helped us so much, because I get so overwhelmed when there are endless options!
I absolutely adore the open and airy feel of our home when you walk in the door….but man is it tough to fill the space! Jennifer had the idea of adding an entry table along with a Moroccan rug and I couldn’t agree with her more. It helped to divide the space up, with the addition of the sprigs it came to life!
We really wanted this part of the house to be comfortable! Our family likes to snuggle up at night with popcorn and binge on Netflix so wanted a place we could feel cozy, kick up our feet or even sit on the ground.
I absolutely love this room! I wasn’t a fan of the light green walls upon moving in, but with the decor finished, I’ve changed my tune. The DIY wall piece is one of my favorites in this room. It’s actually shelving purchased from IKEA, glued together with lumber and some polish & paint. I also LOVE our big dining room table. We enjoy entertaining, so this year – Thanksgiving is at The Boyd’s Nest! Our art choices for this room were also very personal including the foil print zodiac constellations of the four of us (Cancer, Leo, Pisces & Aquarius). On the other wall we included a fun print of the California coastline and a vintage map of Belize we picked up on our sailing trip there.
This kitchen was definitely one of the selling points of the house! There is so much space to cook, entertain and it’s extremely open so you can still interact with guests. We didn’t need to add much to it, but of course a few fun things that went IN the cabinets. Also, if you know anything about us – you know that we love beer! We’ve got a kegerator outside and collect unique steins and tap handles from our travels. You’ll see they’ve all made an appearance in our kitchen.
We aren’t QUITE finished with our bedroom yet, but we’re so close I had to include it. We love snuggling up in bed and being pregnant, I spend more time here than I’d like to admit. That’s why I do make the investment in bedding – so important! Our master bathroom is our sanctuary which is why I chose the horse portrait – I thought it was very calming and serene.
We LOVE to entertain, and our backyard is the perfect spot for it! Living in the valley, temps can easily creep up over 100, so a pool was a must on our list. Eventually we’ll be building out a bar and grill area by the garage, we’ve got tons of yard games and our Sonos sound system pumping!
Creating an ensemble around a swimsuit is always a little tricky. You may not want to be that girl who shows up to the pool in sky-high stilettos and dripping in jewelry, but you also may not want to match a toddler in a terry cloth wrap and floaties on your arms. There’s that proverbial sweet spot, where you achieve all your quintessential water day needs, while still looking fab. For me, this means I’m showing enough skin to keep my temp under control while getting my tan on, but still maintaining a chic edge. In keeping with the findings from our swimsuit pursuit, Zanna knew accessorizing my suit would be all about creating more shape and showing off my athletic build. This meant keeping things minimal up top, with a pair of adorably easy printed trousers and killer gladiator sandals. I’m a bracelet girl, so we stacked up an amazing arm party that kept the look light and fun. We capped it off with a pair of awesome sunnies and a small backpack—voila!
Before this, I never would have thought I could create such a cool and effortless pool day look without a top! I mean, when you think of omitting a shirt, don’t you immediately imagine a look that’s a little…much? Zanna showed me that with my body type, this styling trick not only helps to achieve an effortless feel, but also adds some more shape and dimension to my petite frame. I love it and I love the idea of trying this hack throughout the summer with other pieces! Breezy linen pants, anyone? I think yes! I’m officially equipped with all the styling tools I’ll need to have my most fashionable pool season yet. This has been such a fun experience and I hope all of you will weigh in with the tips and tricks that keep you feeling flirty and fabulous all summer long. As ambitious women, we’ve got to have each other’s backs and share our fashion triumphs and defeats! I’m so proud to be part of this community and I hope you love it, too! If there’s one thing every young professional knows, it’s that no two days are the same in the life of an entrepreneur. This was especially true for our founder and resident #GirlBoss Sarah, who was recently selected to participate in a fab day of styling and fun in the sun with Target. Get it, girl! She teamed up with a gaggle of cool bloggers (Nash of Fabulatina, Chante of Everything Curvy & Chic, and Nikki of My Style Diaries) as well as style expert, Zanna Roberts Rassi and the wonderful team at Target to create some really fun videos about choosing the perfect swimwear for any body type. So cool! Check out Sarah’s take on the experience, below and don’t forget to join the social media conversation, using #TargetStyle.
OMG, IT’S SWIMSUIT SEASON! AH! Normally, this fact would bring on a little twinge; you know, that feeling every non-supermodel gets when she realizes she’ll have to be practically naked in front of other humans soon? Yeah, that twinge! This time around, though, I got to hang with some cool blogger babes and one of my favorite Style Experts, Zanna Roberts Rassi, to dish all about picking the perfect swimsuit for any body type. On top of it all, we did an amazing pool party themed photo shoot that was even more fun than it looks! Swimsuit shopping for me usually goes something like this: enter store, immediately break out into a sweat at the idea of choosing from the countless options available and flee as soon as possible. No bueno! I’m petite, so my biggest concern typically centers on my small bust. Other than that, I’m usually not dissuaded by very many factors, which can make shopping downright overwhelming…where’s a girl to start?! One thing the ladies and I talked about with Zanna was playing up our favorite features instead of focusing too much on so-called problem areas.
Not to toot my own horn (beep beep!), but I’d say I’ve got a pretty cute bum…so Zanna helped me choose a suit that flattered my lovely lady lumps, while elongating my small frame and creating a little bit more shape. Love, love, love! One of the most important things I learned has more to do with mindset than anything else. As women, we’re held to standards that are not only impossible, but can be quite damaging. The lesson is this: there are tons of swimwear options out there. TONS. Why force yourself to fit into a swimsuit, when there are loads of great pieces that are made to fit YOU? Know your strengths and flaunt them! Don’t look at your least favorite features as obstacles, but instead choose swimwear that is flattering and frames your body the best.
My new suit is so perfect for me—I can’t wait to rock it all summer! There’s a perfect fit for every body type; you’ve just gotta get out there and find it! See you at the pool! Find Your Style @TargetStyle.
One word can sum up our founder, Sarah Boyd’s day-to-day: Busy. When she’s not liaising with top bloggers, organizing fashion conferences, or working her PR magic you can usually catch her typing away ferociously at her keyboard. How she juggles it all and maintains a calm demeanor is a mystery to us – but we have a feeling this list of must-haves has something to do with it.
Here, the ten things Sarah keeps close at hand to add a dose of glam in her day-to-day.
1. Teysha Sandals $80: BUY HERE These are hands down my new favorite sandals! Not only are they adorable, but they’re made in Guatemala and by purchasing these you can support their local artisans.
2. Aroma Korean Day Spa $130: BUY HERE The ultimate way to rejuvenate after a long work week. I’m especially fond of their Scrub & Silky treatment – the whole day experience is absolute heaven.
3. Saint Laurent Tote $2950: BUY HERE I really can’t imagine my life without my new Saint Laurent tote. It really make me feel like a power woman.
4. Gray Malin Art: BUY HERE If there’s one thing I love as much as fashion, it’s good art. It’s even better when the two mix! I just got the Prada Marfa art for my office wall.
5. Foot Petals $34: BUY HERE Every woman knows that these babies are total lifesavers. They did a recent collaboration with DWTS cutie Karina Smirnoff – if they can work on dancers feet surely they can work on mine.
6. Blue Moon Summer Honey Wheat: BUY HERE Nothing mitigates hot LA weather quite like an ice cold ale. I’m a fan of the original brew, but this honey wheat version really hits the spot.
7. bareMinerals Primer BB Cream $26: BUY HERE This BB cream is seriously like putting silk on your face. The smooth texture and added SPF makes it the perfect primer for my foundation.
8. bareMinerals bareSkin Foundation $29: BUY HERE I’ve been wearing foundation longer than I’d like to admit, and am yet to find one that I’m 100% happy with – until now! The best part? All you need is 2 drops and it’s gives you the silkiest, picture perfect coverage.
10. Spoke & Weal: This gorgeous salon just made it’s debut in Los Angeles, and is giving the term haircut a whole new meaning! Co-founder Jon Reyman works his scissor magic, while his partner Christine Thompson does the color. With divine smelling Aveda products and an aromatherapy neck massage to boot, what’s not to love? And get this – when you make an appointment and say you’re a friend of ours, you get your first cut FREE. That’s $450 right back in your pocket.
